The Beauty Innovation & Design Awards (BeautyID Awards) was established to recognize package innovation and formulation innovation across 11 product categories including professional and prestige categories for hair, nail, color, fragrance & skin. Additionally, one category is dedicated to packaging innovation in sustainability and for formula innovation in cosmetic contract manufacturing. Mass, prestige and professional sub categories are also represented.
BeautyID awards will also recognize an Audience Choice and an overall Grand Award given to the consensus choice for outstanding excellence.
Finalists in each category will be announced on the BeautyID website and in a press release distributed on a wire service and through trade media early May. The winners in each category will be announced on July 10th during the Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) event held annually at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, July 9th-11th. Show floor location and time to be announced.
Entries will be accepted from designers, suppliers, agencies, and brand manufacturers from small and large companies, anywhere in the world.
Products that are eligible have or will be introduced for retail either domestically or internationally from April 1, 2016 – March 31, 2017.
Please note: If selected as a finalist, complete marketed product samples are required. Suppliers, designers and agencies must have permission and approval from the brand manufacturer to submit products and provide samples.
All entries are submitted to the Judging Committee, composed of designers, brand experts, beauty bloggers, select packaging professionals, packaging academia and retailers. (Space permitting, new members from these groups are eligible to be a part of the Committee – you may indicate future interest by emailing us at info@beautyIDawards.com)
The Judging Committee selects the Finalists, up to three in each category, and base their judging on the following criteria:
Creative use of new materials, components, dispensers and decorating processes
Effective Brand Messaging and shelf or display impact
The BeautyID AWARDS are granted based on the merits of the package, rather than the market strength of the company.

Final Entry Deadline: May 5, 2017
Semi-finalists will be announced early May
Winners will be announced July 10, 2017
Finalist judging will be completed by early June in an on-site event to be held in New York City.
*Finalists will be notified by mid June. We suggest category finalists attend the event in Las Vegas. Complimentary registration will be available to any award finalist company or support service partners.
Winners are announced during an awards ceremony at the Cosmoprof North America (CPNA), July 10th at Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. Location and time to be announced.
The Mass, Prestige and Professional sub-categories are defined in terms of price point and distribution.
Entries in the Mass category are considered products that have launched in a distribution outlet that is a food, drug, or mass merchandiser retailer channel. Examples of this type of distribution include, but are not limited to: drug stores, mass merchandisers, warehouse and discount centers, pharmacy chains, etc.
Entries in the Prestige category are considered products that have launched in a distribution outlet that is NOT a mass, food or drug retailer. Examples of this type of distribution include, but are not limited to: Department Stores, Spas, Salons, Specialty Stores/Departments, Television (QVC, HSN), etc.
Entries in the Professional category are considered those solely sold in salons, spas and OTC's and not sold direct to the general public.
The BeautyID Awards are promoted through Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) & Beauty Packaging Magazine web sites, e-mails, enewsletters, press releases and social media channels. All of which receive a high amount of engagement worldwide during the event promotion and regular distribution of Beauty Packaging Magazine & online community
In addition, the Finalists and Category Winners will be featured in high quality trade media as well as in Web portals, beauty blogs, and through online influencers.
During Cosmoprof North America (CPNA) BeautyID Awards Finalists and Category Winners will be displayed in the Bayside Foyer of the Mandalay Bay.
Finalists and category winners receive a digital BeautyID Awards logo for recognition and promotion.
The BeautyID Awards will be highly promoted through Cosmoprof North America and Beauty Packaging Magazines. Winners will receive a beautiful custom trophy designed by Jon Dinapoli of Walsh House agency and printed by Raise3D printers.
All category winners will also receive a prize package valued at over $10,000 and includes: a Macro trend book from Stylus, Category report from Mintel, 3-month Boost marcomm campaign from Adduco Communications Inc., and above mentioned coverage through Cosmoprof North America and in Beauty Packaging Magazine.
The Grand Award winner also walks away with a 12sqm ready stand booth at CPNA 2018 and a N2 single 3D printer from Raise 3D.
The Audience Choice Award winner will also receive a a 12sqm ready stand booth at CPNA 2018 and social media campaign from The Brain Trust valued at $30,000
The Winner in the Packaging Innovation:Sustainability category will also receive a custom packaging environmental assessment from Empauer.
All finalists in each category will be featured on the BeautyID Awards website in early May for public online voting. The user-friendly system will allow visitors to sign up and place 1 vote for their favorite submission. Winners will be announced during the celebratory event on July 10, 2017.
